Kyrgyzstan

Now I realize that the five-day protests in this Central Asian country may not have anything to do with blog reviews, or Europe. However, I think it's important enough to let others know. Hundreds of protestors took to streets and have been protesting for five straight days since the elections. BBC reports that a few hundred protesters have occupied the offices of the regional governor in Jalalabad in southern Kyrgyzstan.

While it may smell like the Orange Revolution of Ukraine, it is tough to predict where it will go. OSCE says the elections fell short of the OSCE standards. Kyrgyz official news agency Kabar reports that all government offices are now in the hands of the police. That same report denies BBC report that protestors took over the offices of the governor in that region.

For more information in the blogosphere, you can read Gateway Pundit, Publius Pundit blogs the 'democratic revolution'. Otherwise, it's pretty quiet.

Surprisingly quiet.

More on the elections, read here.

It is also interesting to note that according to Kabar the United States requested that aircraft AVAX be placed on a military base at Gansi in Kyrgyzstan. The government of Kyrgyzstan denied the request. Although I have read nothing about this particular piece in the Western media.
